ABOUT

HISTORY

The idea for a band came about from a discussion amongst hockey dads and friends regarding bucket lists and New Year's Resolutions at a New Year's Eve party on January 1, 2016.  After realizing that, although some people sang, some played guitar, some played bass and some played drums, all shared the desire to play in a garage band that didn't interfere with their family lives and other responsibilities, the group started meeting once a week, after everyone's kids were in bed and work was finished, to goof off, drink beer, and play music together.

A few months later, wives became curious about this garage band, which had come to be called Up Past 10.  So the band opened the garage door and played at a family picnic for band families and friends.  One thing led to another and before long, other friends became curious and wanted to hear the band, so on Oct. 29, 2016, Up Past 10 played their first public gig - a Halloween party - at Bruceton Station.

Since that time, additional members have joined the band.  The set list has continued to grow.  The garage has been closed in and soundproofed (after we became way too friendly with the Bethel Park police department).  And, what began with the desire to just play out a few times a year, has turned into trying to coordinate 6 families' schedules so the band can play out every 6 - 8 weeks.
